Theodore

I have been a strong supporter of Jose Theodore since his acquisition. Not because I am a fan (I have never been a fan), but rather because he's one of the best goalies in the league, and he was the latest in a long string of scapegoats for idiot Avs fans. I have said all along that all he needed was some consistent ice time and to be shown the confidence of his coach.

Well, I was totally, completely, 100% correct. And everyone else was wrong.

On Dec 31st, 2007, JoeTed was 9-8-1 with a 2.92gaa and a .887sv%.
Since Dec 31st, JoeTed is 14-9-1 with a 1.99gaa and a .928sv%

The current league leader in GAA is Dominik Hasek, who has a 2.08gaa.
The current league leader in Sv% is Ty Conklin, who has a .928sv%.

Now, obviously you cannot compare what JoeTed has done in half a season to what Conklin and Hasek have done over the course of an entire season. There is definitely something to be said about putting up the numbers they have over the long haul (though neither of them have played as many games as JoeTed, and Hasek hasn't been the least bit consistent this year despite playing behind the best defense in the league).

However, since Jan 1st, JoeTed has been the best goalie in the entire league. With every game that passes, everyone else is forced to eat more and more crow. And it sure as hell feels good to serve it up, let me tell you.

You'd think people would listen to me eventually, but they never do.
